Dear All,
We occasionally are confronted with Urinary calculi in Pregnant Women. These women may need treatment for their acute nature of presentation. Most of the radiological evaluations cannot be performed in these patients making it difficult to make a clear cut diagnosis. US is an option but it is not associated with high sensitivity in picking up Urinary Stones and on instances could miss detection altogether. MRI for detection of Urinary calculi has low sensitivity. It is under these circumstances, when presented with Acute Symptoms, poses considerable difficulty for management.
I am sure most of us have our own Tips and Tricks as to what should be done under such circumstances. I would appreciate if we could enlighten as to how we go about under these situations with our personal experience.
We members of Uroacademy await participation.
With warm Regards,
Venu
