Lymph node dissection for B Ca - How extensive should it be?

Dear All,

PLND is an indispensible part of Radical Cystectomy for MIBC. But how extensive it should be has remained controversial. Complications associated with PLND increases with the extent of Dissection. Hence caution should be exercised as how extensive such dissection should be.

This review by Tohru Nakagawa (2020 Available from Nov 3^rd) provide a good perspective as to what PLND in MIBC should entail and how extensive under which circumstances has been elaborated.

Another RCT is underway; hopefully the results will be published in 2022 and could provide valuable informations as to the extent of PLND to be performed.
