Dear All,
Though we know
many neurological and non neurological based conditions can cause changes in
bladder function in neonates and infants and many can ultimately lead to renal
functional deterioration. However, we discuss this aspect, mostly in passing
when discussions on such disorders are made.
Though we know
considerably regarding Bladder function in Adults, maybe to some extent in
older children, our knowledge concerning Bladder Function in Infants and
children below 2 yrs are rather sketchy.
Normal range of
bladder volume, pressure during voiding and other parameters in neonates and
infants less than 2 years old is difficult, making
interpretation of UDS findings difficult.
These two articles
provided will help us understand these aspects more clearly. It should be remembered
that both these articles have considerable overlaps and is better read in
tandem.

Venu
